Kennedy Fleming is a singer, actress, musician, and educator based in New York City.
Her love of music and performing has been a part of who she is since birth. While growing up in Lakeville, Minnesota, Kennedy discovered her love of story telling through youth programs such as StageCoach Theatre Arts, CastleCo Theatre (formerly Children’s Castle Theatre) and Chequamegon Children’s Theatre in Cable, Wisconsin. When she wasn’t onstage, she was singing in her garage or taking piano, guitar, and clarinet lessons.
Her passion for the performing arts flourished in high school as she got to perform in Lakeville South High School’s fall plays (Get Smart, Romeo & Juliet), One Act festivals (The Whole Shebang, Murder by Poe), and Spring musicals (Beauty & The Beast, Oliver, Mary Poppins, Guys & Dolls). She continued her music education with Music Theory classes, school choirs, varsity acapella groups, and choir tours to Ireland and southern Italy.
Kennedy then studied musical theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and Los Angeles, where she got her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Performing Arts, with an emphasis in Musical Theatre. In the summer of 2019, she studied classical voice and contemporary styles at the Orfeo Vocal Arts Academy in Dresden, Germany. While there, she performed for concert series Palais Sommer Dresden at the Japanese Palace, and Marcolini Palace.
While waiting for the dust to settle on the COVID-19 pandemic, Kennedy returned to her second home of Cable, Wisconsin. As an educator, she was Assistant Musical Director for Chequamegon Children’s Theatre, and Director for Drummond High School’s One Act play festival (Gold Medalist, 2023; Outstanding Direction, 2021, 2023). As a musician, she was lead vocalist and keys in her pop/rock band Kennedy & The Corruption. As a solo artist, she was a lead vocalist in Lake Superior’s Big Top Chatauqua’s concert series Ladies of Laurel Canyon in 2023, and returned once more in 2024.
Kennedy now resides in New York City once more. She recently joined forces with 24k Theatre Co and made her producing debut with the show “Inventing Gay Pop” at The Green Room 42.
